MiBees

Working to support and promote our wonderful pollinators.

We produce small-batch, pure artisan honey with our bees who forage freely across the gardens, hedgerows and fields around our home in Brailes, gathering from whatever’s in bloom across the north Cotswolds.

About Us

Our very discerning, hardworking bees produce pure artisan honey from flowers & blossom in the gardens, hedgerows and fields around Brailes in the north Cotswolds. Each source has a unique flavour and appearance which we preserve by extracting our honey in small batches with care.Unlike mass-produced honey, ours is never blended or overly processed. What you taste is a true reflection of the season and the flowers that our bees have visited.

M i Bees are David and Margery.
We began our beekeeping journey over 20 years ago and still find it a fascinating hobby with many facets, from learning how to keep the bee colony healthy through all the seasons, to discovering how different plants give each batch of honey its own distinct flavour. Each week and each season we learn something new from beekeeping.
Our honey changes throughout the year as different plants come into bloom - spring honey tends to be lighter and more delicate, captured from fruit blossom and early meadow flowers, while late summer brings richer, darker flavours as the bees forage from bramble, clover and hedgerow blooms.
Each jar tells the story of a particular time and place in the Cotswolds countryside.

In 2017 David was awarded the Master Beekeeper Award by Wax Chandlers Guild, MiBees is a multiple National & Regional Honey show prize winner and we proudly hold a 5* Food Safety hygiene rating.

Our honeys, other hive products & recipes

We describe our honey as 'pure' (or more fashionably 'raw'), as it is simply extracted, coarse filtered then gently warmed to put into jars ready for you to enjoy! Our seasonal honeycomb is cut straight from the hive into a suitably sized portion and packed. That's it, as pure and as natural as it gets! Our bees also provide us with pure beeswax which we collect as we harvest the honey, then turn it into a selection of candles, polishes and cosmetics. The candles burn with a pure, bright, smokeless, long lasting flame and carry the scent of honey from the hive.
